I like to post short stories with picture on Facebook. This is an example of one I'm working on right now. I aim for all this to promote The Bearton Bears but often I use Teddy bears in my stories. Of course, The Bearton Bears Bear Stories are about flesh and blood bears - somewhat advanced from the grizzly bears from whom they descended :)
I'll try and ad more of my Facebook stuff here for posterity. With so many accounts getting "Lost" on Facebook these days, I kind of wish I'd duplicated all of my posts here now. Maybe in time.
Dylan and Holly insisted that we get some simulator sailing in this afternoon on eSail. We all love it. It is great fun, nobody ends up overboard and it doesn't cost a paw and a leg like the real thing. We had some great fun.
We are on our way to Shearwater Island now and we hope you'll visit us here for the next episode! Meanwhile here's how it started today :)
The bears are all set and waiting for me to come and get ready to cast off for them. These are the captains, I am a mere deckhand you see?
Holly is measuring a possible course to show me how it's done in the real word and Dylan is standing by to give me a lesson on using the hand bearing compass! Holly is sitting on my chart plotter!
Back in esail land (or esail sea maybe?) we have the one of the esail charts on the screen.
Captain Holly has plotted a course to take us from Water Head Islands to Searwater Island
I cast off and Captain Dylan at the helm, skillfully guides Jessica away from the pontoon.
We say goodbye to Water Head Islands, until our next stay.
When we are further out, Dylan spots a ship in the distance. This is a new thing for us!He decides to take a closer look
and even closer...
The view through the binoculars! Ahoy! She's armed! Oh err! I don't like the look of those guns!
A majestic looking vessel for sure!
Luckily she didn't fire on us!
We steamed ahead, under full sail and engine.
We get back on course for Shearwater Island...
And soon the big gunship is a long way behind, in our wake. We're on our way to Shearwater to explore. There are some great places to visit. Will you come along with us? We all hope so!
Several hours later we are making good headway. We are out of sight of land and the gun ship is still in sight. Maybe she's making for Shearwater Island too?
The two bears are delighted with their sail give each other a hug while no one is looking.
Hey! Doesn't the deck hand get one?
